Vitamin C performs a variety of roles in your pet’s body, and is naturally produced in the liver and kidneys.
It is an antioxidant and antihistamine that improves your pet’s joints, immune system, heart, and vision.
- Joints: works with Vitamin D to produce collagen that strengthens joints.
- Immune System: helps body reinforce cell walls, strengthen capillaries, decreases inflammation.
- Heart: helps lower cholesterol and strengthen heart.
- Vision: antioxidants work to prevent cataracts and deterioration of eye parts.
The amount of Vitamin C produced in the liver and kidneys is enough to maintain your pet’s health;
however, more Vitamin C is necessary for most animals because the increased amount of stress their body endures requires more Vitamin C.
Therefore you should consider supplementing your dog’s diet with Vitamin C, and more specifically Ester-C.
Ester-C contains calcium and Vitamin C metabolites, but will enter your pet’s bloodstream quicker than
normal Vitamin C. When your pet’s body produces Vitamin C, the majority of it is lost through urine. Ester-C, however, is designed so
that more is absorbed and retained by the body, and includes calcium and natural (non-acidic) ingredients. Genetically modified
organisms, allergens, chemicals, and artificial ingredients are not found in Ester-C. If you are planning to supplement your pet’s
diet with some form of Vitamin C, consider Ester-C as a safe, more effective alternative.
