Rimadyl (carprofen) by Pfizer controls your dogs pain whether caused by surgery or arthritis. Rimadyl is a 24 hour, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administered once per day. Used as directed, it provides effective relief of pain and inflammation due to canine arthritis, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Rimadyl is the most widely used NSAID in the United States. It has been shown to be clinically effective and can also be used in the control of postoperative pain associated with soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs.
Although there is no known cure for arthritis, there is a way to help ease the pain and discomfort associated with arthritis and other joint abnormalities. Rimadyl relieves arthritis pain, allowing for increased activity and freedom of movement to help improve your dog's quality of life. This increased activity helps your dog maintain a healthy weight, which helps slow down the progression of his disease.
Comes in two forms: scored caplets, which are easy to break apart to give the exact dose your pet needs, and chewable tablets, which are liver flavored. If your dog is in pain due to the above conditions, discuss the use of an NSAID, including Rimadyl, with your veterinarian.
